FROM BOYS TO MEN AT ALLSORTS

Good morning all, today our challenge theme was chosen by our lovely Tracy and it is
anything suitable for the male young or old
we have some great prizes to be won

Woodware stamp and sentiment set

 From

Craft Stash is the fastest growing online craft store that specialises in papercraft for card making, journaling, mixed media and much more! We have over 10,000 products to choose from and we’re constantly adding new brands and new products from around the globe.

And also 3 images of winners choice from Ruth Hamilton Design

Ruth Hamilton Design: I have enjoyed crafting all my life and have been involved in the craft industry for several years. I started drawing images to use on cards for my own use and then went on to design some stamps for a well known craft company.I am an avid lover of nature so most of my drawings are of flowers, birds and animals. Even when I can’t travel I love spending time in the garden, growing plants and looking after them. I hope you enjoy colouring my digi images, I have several YouTube vidoes here.

For my DT card I have used one of my old stamps from Bildmalarna called Tossa-Sledge
I have coloured him with a mix of markers, I have used some of my new square stitched dies, the papers are from Paper Boutique so is the sentiment, I have also punched out some snowflakes.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Many thanks for your previous comments on my posts, I have tried to catch up after a rather traumatic week.
On Wednesday my mum would not respond to the carer or myself when we tried to wake her up, the carers thought that she might have a water infection, my brother and I thought we had lost her.
I called the doctors which, in my state of mind, was probably the wrong thing to do, I am still struggling with their response which was we cannot help as we are 'overwhelmed' I asked if they could supply me with a test bottle that I could collect and they could test her water, their reply was 'no we cannot as we are overwhelmed'
I know for a fact that they are NOT overwhelmed with seeing patients at the surgery as I had to make a visit there last week and it was empty.
I am assuming that they are 'overwhelmed' with the amount of E Consult forms that people are filling out on line, I received a text message over a week ago to say that the E Consult programme had been shut down for at least a week due to the 'overwhelming' response from patients.
The receptionist told me to contact 111 which I did, after some questions they told me they were sending an ambulance and it would arrive within 18 mins, 2 hours later they arrived, I must admit they were very good.
My brother and I were both in a state as you can imagine, the Paramedics then advised us that they had rang the doctors and would get a call back within 20 mins.
After pussy footing about the doctor said they were going to prescribe some antibiotics, they were delivered the next day, the Paramedics also told us we needed a form signed by the doctor verifying that we did not want mum resuscitated, the doctor arrived that evening did not even look at mum just handed the form over to my brother.
Mum is a lot better thank goodness, but my battle with the service that we are being provided by the goes on.
My mum and brother are both housebound, I have been ringing the surgery for the last 4 weeks to arrange for them to have both their flu and booster Covid jabs, I was told at the onset that they would be put on a list for home visits, each week I rang and I had nothing, then last week I rang they said that home visits were 'under discussion' and I was to ring back on Friday (yesterday) to get an update.
I rang back and was informed that they were NOT on the list but would be added immediately.
I am afraid I am far from happy in fact I am so mad I really feel like I am losing it.
It is my mum's 102 birthday on 16th of this month I want to be able to celebrate that milestone with her and the family, can anybody tell me WHY there is such a lack of caring from the people that we are to supposed to receive caring from?
I cannot sit back and let this happen not just to my mum but to others that are having to suffer.
If anyone can advise me of what track I can follow to get things sorted then please let me know.
Hugs to you all
Lolo x

I'm so sorry to read all of this and it is all too familiar. Unfortunately everything seems overwhelmed. I tried to report something to 101 Police and they are also overwhelmed! I do hope someone can give you some advice.

This is a lovely card with such great DPs.

Beautiful card Lorraine .. great colouring. I’m so sorry to hear about the traumatic time you are having .. I think everyone appreciates that GP’s and the NHS are under a lot of pressure, but the responses you are getting sound pretty scandalous. Can you Google how to complain about a GP .. though of course that would not necessarily speed things up for you now. As regards your mum and brother’s jabs ahead of her birthday if I were you I would ring the GP and tell them they have c***ed up major league by failing to put her on the list thus causing a delay, and DEMAND they give you an appointment there and then when they will come out .. there comes a time when it’s past being nice about it!! Hope you can make some progress
Hugs

My heckles are up Lorraine, that is sheer bullying by the Paramedics, they cannot demand you sign a DNR, it's your choice. I had much the same with Dad several times and always flatly refused, there was nothing they could do than accept my wishes.

I'm at a total loss to know GP's are spending their time on, I eventually got a face to face recently, sat down and told him my two issues, his answer was which one did I want him to deal with in that appointment. Regardless I spurted out both, his answer OK we'll deal with the stomach, the other will be due to your MS. How the heck he can say that without talking about or looking infuriated me.

But pleased your Mum is responding, it'a all such a worry for you.

OK rant over, a super card for our theme this week, love the deep blue shades.

Sounds like a very stressful week. I hope things improve for you and your family soon and they get the care they need.

I am so sorry to read of your traumatic week Lorraine, I wish there was something helpful I could add here, I know that dealing with 'the caring profession' can sometimes feel as though you are banging your head on a brick wall. It's dreadful when you, or loved ones, need urgent help and can't get it! I could go on for ever with tales of friends and family that are struggling to get urgent treatment at present- but it won't help so I'll keep quiet. I am fortunate in that my GP is brilliant and actually sees patients when they need him... but I think he might be a rarity.
I hope your Mum is ok now you have the medication for her, take care xx

Oops nearly forget to mention your beautiful card- it's gorgeous!

Your card is so cute! Love the sketch and stitched dies! And beautifully colored image!

I'm so sorry to hear your mom has been unwell and that she didn't receive the care she needs. Just awful, service seems to be going down everywhere and it's especially bad for the health system! I'm glad to read that she is doing a bit better!
Thinking of you and sending hugs!

A very cute card Lorraine, love that image.
So sorry that you are having such an awful time with parts of the medical profession. It isn't just confined to your area either, there is definitely a nationwide problem. I hope you get something sorted soon.

Lovely card with great colouring, Loraaine. The yellow is a great touch.
What a sad story. I think all is better organized in the Netherlands. When something turns up with my mother, the medical world works immediately, despite Covid. So glad all goes well with her at the moment.
Wishing you all the best and hope you can enjoy the weekend a little bit.
Hugs,
xxx Margreet

A sweet card Lorraine, such a fun image and great colours.
I'm so sorry to hear about all of your problems with the Doctor's Surgery, I think they are all a nightmare at the moment, some days ours don't even answer the phone - it rings for 20 minutes and then you just get cut off.
I don't really know what to recommend other than perhaps a call to Adult Services, they might be able to get some help for your Brother and Mother, they were really helpful with my Mum but she ended up in a Nursing home when we couldn't cope with her and I don't think that is what you want. What is your local MP like, they might be able to put some pressure on the GP, especially if they get enough complaints.
Sorry I'm not more help.
Take care.
