Here is my DT project
I decided that I wanted to make an Easter Bonnet but I also wanted to use it as a hanging display and this is what I came up with.
The first picture shows the hanger in it's entirety
I had thought about this project for some time, I wanted to make my very own bonnet from scratch and thought of the ways I could do it. I have made an Easter Bonnet before about six years ago for my sister, it was different to this one but it still hangs in her living room to this day.
It has been awhile since I got the urge to create something like this so I do hope that you will like it.
My first job was to create the template I used circles and a tool that I bought several weeks ago, a Hot Glue Gun, I love it, wish I had bought one a lot sooner.
Once I had my circles I put them together to make the base for me to work on
I wanted to make some of my own flowers so I used my Dimension Fourth flower stamp and flourish. I used SU Rich Rassleberry ink.
I stamped 12 flowers cut them out and put them together. I used raffia ribbon around the middle of the hat and adhered my four large flowers to the front.
I found some nice dark pink binding sort of ribbon and glued that to the top of the hat circle, from there I used many flowers that I bought from Wild Orchid
I did not want just the bonnet but also an image that was suitable for Easter and found this Penny Black Slapstick stamp which I stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink then coloured with Copics. I used the Nestie No 4 label die to cut her out, I inked around the frame with Versamagic Pink ink for a soft effect, I also cut the same size label with SU Rassleberry card and adhered to the back of the image for strength.
Once I had the image ready I used my crop a dile to punch a hole in the brim of the hat, fixed an eyelet then threaded through this wide gold ribbon, I adhered the image, I also used the same ribbon to make a large bow for the back of my bonnet, then added some gold hat pins.
Finally I used the same SU Rassleberry card to die cut two butterflies which I glued to the hat and top if the hanger ribbon.
I would also like to enter this Easter/Spring project into the following challenges
Wow this has been a long post for me but I hope that you have enjoyed seeing what I have made and maybe I have given you a little inspiration, for even more please pay a visit to the other DT their work is brilliant.
I hope that we will see you all at our Creative Inspirations Easter challenge.
Bye for now see you very soon
Hugs
