Hi all, today is the start of the new fortnightly challenge at
the theme is
VACATION
Here is my DT card using Tilda with Surf Board, I coloured Tilda with markers then cut her out. I decided to make a Shadow Box but with an additional inner acetate layer, this enabled me to create a tropical vacation scene for surfer Tilda, the Palm trees is a stamp that I received some years ago from a blogging buddy, I stamped two trees then cut them out, the papers are from the Miss Daisy Stamps WR3 paper range, I used a shaped die to cut out the aperture, the flowers are stamps and dies from Heartfelt Tropical Hibiscus range, I also used the shells stamps and die cuts, I added lace, beads in a bottle and topped the lace with some WOC roses. I have taken many pics from different angles so you could see more of the inside.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my followers, friends and visitors for your support, kindness and encouragement that I receive on a regular basis, but due to my continued personal and health issues I have decided to step down from all my DT commitments with the exception of Magnolia Forever.
I have talked it over with my son and have agreed not to totally end my days in blogland but to see how things progress.
I seem to have lost so much of the love and joy that I have found for so many years in my craft, it has always been a big help to me over the years which is why I am not making this a final farewell.
hugs

This will teach me to look and comment then read, now Im commenting twice. Thank goodness your not stepping down all together. I so enjoy coming to visit your blog and seing your wonderful creations. I hope your health is ok and that stepping back to just start enjoying making for the fun of it may make a big difference. I think (not that I know as I have not done what you do) but I do think we all start because of the love we have of making and sharing what we make. I hope this comes back to you cause that would then put the pleasure back into your life. Take care and know you Aileen very very appreciated, hugs Aileen

So glad to hear that you are not leaving blogland completely but to step down from some DT commitments might be just what you need to restore your love of creating. I do understand how the joy of crafting can sometimes up and leave you, I've been there myself several times. I wish you much improved health and happiness. Love and hugs to you! xxx
So beautiful Lorraine. I have lost all my enthusiasm for crafting at the moment, I didn't think it would happen to me as it has always been crafting that has got me through things.

Wow, Lorraine, this is an awesome creation!
I'm glad you're not making a 'final farewell' and I hope that things improve for you, hun. Sometimes we just need a rest, don't we?! Take care, sweetie, and hopefully I'll see you on Facebook.
Love and hugs, Maggie xxx
This is one awesome card Lorraine, All the elements and wonderful dimension make for one amazing creation!! My sweet friend your talented creations would be sorely missed if you were to quit blogging totally! I think after doing so much for years we tend to get a bit weary and lose some of the zeal even more so with health issues. I know I have struggled with this for the past year. I hope that cutting back on your responsibilities will help you and we will still be able to hear from you. Big hugs my friend, you have been such an encourager to me over the years, I always appreciate you so much!!
This saddens me that you are going to step down. I am glad that you will be with one so I can see your wonderful creations. I do understand why you are doing it.
This is a beautiful shadow box. I love the little girl. She is so adorable. Love, Love, Love this

I hope you don't leave blog land, I'd miss seeing your fab creations :( Maybe stepping down from your DTs will take the pressure off and make it fun again xx
Ah Lorraine, I have picked a sad time to visit your blog but totally understand where you are coming from. We all need to take stock of our lives now and then and see what's working and what isn't. Hopefully a little break will help you settle. It would be such a shame not to see more of this loveliness because this card is totally amazing. I love all the layers and how you have the perfect balance with all your embellishments. Come back soon xxx
Your card is gorgeous Lorraine. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and just craft for ourselves. Hope to see you again soon. Carol x

Hope you stay creating and blogging...you would be sorely missed if you were to retire from crafting completely.
Your cards are always so beautiful and uniquely you! That is waht makes them special. Having stepped back from design teams may be enough to change things up a bit for you. You will now be creating whatever you want to do. That may be freeing and fun!
I too suffer with poor health and totally understand how draining and debilitating that canbe. Good luck with your health...
A gorgeous card!
Thank you soo much for taking part in our " anything goes with optional at the sea / beach” challenge over at Creatalicious & good luck in the draw.
Hope to see you again in our new challenge as well…

Hi Lorraine, Just saw your comment on my blog and I realised I had not seen a post from you since we came home, all now makes sense having read this post.
I was going to mail you but guess what, it doesn't seem to be in my list which I know it was, so instead leaving this message for you. I know how you struggle with health issues and are always so brave to fight them and keep creating wonderful cards.
I can totally identify with needing space to step back and hope that in time you will feel like getting back into things, meantime sending you love and gentle hugs my friend.

Oh my dear friend Lorraine!!! I have to first apologize to you for my absence visiting your blog. As you may have seen on my a couple of my blog posts that I have been extremely "busy" behind the scenes creating things that I can't even post on my blog! (boo!)
You are such an AMAZING and talented lady!! Your creation here is absolutely gorgeous with so many many details and I can see with ALL of your creations that you are and expert in what you do my friend!! :) I've also loved those sweet Magnolia stamps and you work with them stunningly!!
Now onto the wording in your post which I've just caught up with here....sigh....I think I know EXACTLY where you are coming from here my friend and I've actually sadly seen this with several of my blog friends over the last few years. When something doesn't become as fun as it once used to be, I completely understand. This is why we started it in the first place, it's supposed to be FUN!! This is why I've had my "ups" and "downs" myself with it and have to step back once in a while so I completely understand. For me, the stepping away to access it all helped a bit. But I also found that by turning my attention to forms of art. As you know I used to make fussy and fancy cards, but turned my attention to the trendy CAS style. I have found that sometimes I also need a break from cards and tried something totally different and out of my comfort zone and have picked up new excitement with that as well. Whatever you decide to do, I will always support you!! Sending you comforting HUGS - P.S. Sorry for the long post!
I seem to have missed this post Lorraine, what a beautiful shadow box card with gorgeous handmade flowers and lots of pretty elements in the design. I do hope you continue to craft and visit blogland on a regular basis, I'm sure with the pressure of DT's taken away then crafting will become a pleasure again and you will find a renewed enthusiasm. I wish you well and hope that your health improves soon too.
Lorraine
Just fabulous Lorraine, love the shadow box effect and wonderful coloring.

Such a stunning shadow box card, Lorraine! Of course I love the Tilda image and she is beautifully coloured, but I think the palms and hibiscus make it extra special, especially with the 3D effect. Hope you feel better very soon. Thank you for joining us at the Crafts Galore Encore August Challenge, “Use a stamp or digi”. Good Luck!
