Hi all I wanted to let you know why I have not been posting anything other than my DT work.
My little dog Polo is not good, he has been suffering for quite a while with his back legs but now his front ones are also affected, which means that he is practically unable to walk.
His mind and looks are just the same, he looks no older, his eyes are bright and alert, so is his mind but his body is being taken over by the age process.
He is now 16 1/2 yrs of age and I may have to let him go very soon. It is breaking my heart, I have no will to create any cards or do crafting of any sorts. To be truthful nothing else matters to me at the moment than my Polo, I have battled in my mind and heart, I don't want to let him go, I expect a miracle to happen and that he will be ok but somehow deep down I know that there will be no miracle.
I know that some of my friends in blog land have recently lost their own beloved animals and I know that some of you will understand how I am feeling at this time.
I will be scheduling my DT work and hopefully comment as and when I can.

Awww Lorraine my heart goes out to you sweetie, I hope that your miracle happens and that Polo can walk more easily. My fur babies are both getting older too, its so hard isn't it?

ahhhh Lorraine that is terrible news we get so attached to these adorable little animals it is so hard, my wee woman as i call her is 17 and I dread this day coming.

Oh Lorraine I really feel for you sweetie. I have tears welling as I am typing this. As you probably remember I lost my pussy baby. It doesn't get any easier I am afraid and when the time comes it is a very hard decision to make. We have to do what is best for them sweetie. My thoughts are with you.

Oh you poor love, I know the heartache that these decisions can cause having had to make similar decisions in the past. I know you will make the right decision, as hard as it might be! They are part of our family and we hate to let them go but sometimes we have no real choice. I will miss your little visits but I know you will be back. Oh, I feel for you Lorraine....such a hard time. Huge hugs sent your way. Polo...does look wonderful at 16 1/2 years.
So sad to read your post this morning Lorraine. We have been there too and I know exactly how you will be feeling. Try and think of the years of friendship and love that Polo will leave you with, no one can take away those lovely memories. How about starting a scrapbook just for Polo. Oh my dear friend !!!! Sending you love, hugs and friendship !!!! My heart aches for you .... I think you know in your heart what is right for Polo ... is it really fair to have a beloved family member suffer so much !!!
I had the same dilema with my two beloved kitties a few years ago both of who were 18 !!! I had to get both put to sleep, that was just the reality of life and the kindest thing I ever did. Both passed in my arms !!! so I know what you are going through !!!

So sorry to hear about Polo, it must be hard for you to decide what would be the best thing for him,I know how you must be feeling as we lost both our cat and our little dog this year, they were both getting on in years and they were beautiful members of our family and we miss them so much, my heart goes out to you.

Oh Lorraine hunny your post had me in tears, I am so sorry for you, my heart goes out to you, I know how heartbreaking it is being in your position, I've been there so many times.
I wish there was something I could say to help you but sadly I know there isn't but I will be thinking of you.

There are no words to ease in this situation. I've lost two of my beloved dogs one at 16 and one at 13 and I still miss them every day. Letting go is the hardest thing to do. In the end you put their needs before your's. My heart is with you and sweet Polo. hugs, eileen

Oh my heart goes out to you. As you probably know I'm a new owner of my puppy Bichon and I'm surprised just how much I love him. He's now 5 months and I already can't imagine being without him and the recent attack really shook me up as I tried to protect him as though he was my child, so after 17.5 years, I can only imagine your pain. Oh Lorraine this post has just made me cry. I totally understand how you must be feeling, I have two cats, Bert and Simone (you will have to come over to my blog and visit them). My boy, Bert has epilepsy and it has been touch & go since he was 1 (he is now 7) that he is going to stay with us. Polo is absolutely gorgeous and looks as though he has lots of spirit in him. You will know when the right time comes hun, I believe he will let you know. I know we haven't known each other long but now you are part of the CC Club we are all here for you angel.
